INTERNI: Mykonos’ Mediterranean Gem

INTERNI: Mykonos’ Mediterranean Gem

Perhaps one of Mykonos’ most celebrated restaurants, Interni is a sensory journey of gastronomy set against an idyllic garden in the heart of Matogiannia and offers a menu of contemporary Mediterranean cuisine.

The brainchild of Nikos Varveris, Interni is the flagship of the Interni Group (which now also in corporates Ftelia Beach Club and The Wild Hotel both also on the island) and oozes chic Myconian style under the direction of famed designer Paola Navone.

An open-air environment, Interni’s glamourous décor, seasonally changing menu and extensive wine list has attracted the who’s who of the Mykonos jet-set over the years and continues to charm with its fun, yet chilled vibe.

Foodwise, the menu is centred around modern Mediterranean cuisine influenced by innovative tastes of the world. Start with the Octopus Carpaccio, delicately delicious, the finest, thinly sliced octopus is perfectly complemented with a chilli sauce and salad drizzled in a truffle vinaigrette. The Burrata on the menu is some of the freshest on the island and the ceviche is also a favoured choice for its tasty helping of mango and grilled sweet potato.

Further on in the menu, one is spoilt for choice with Interni’s flavoursome choice of salads, pastas and eclectic mains. The Interni Salad is a must – think warm goats cheese, caramelised pecans and a generous dressing of sherry vinegar. For the seafood connoisseur, Berkeley Bespoke’s ultimate indulgence is Interni’s Lobster Risotto; a to-die-for mix of sweet potato, truffle oil, lobster tails and an irresistible mix of aromatic butter.

As well as its sensational feast of a menu, Interni also boasts an extensive wine list and a well-curated cocktail menu served up by mixologists. Highlights on the drink menu include everything from Louis Roderer’s Cristal through to some of the finest dessert wines Europe has to offer. Start with a pre-dinner cocktail to really heighten the experience–the Mykonos Breeze is a particular favourite and encapsulates the island’s cool skies in a modern long drink.
