Japanese-Peruvian Dining at Nobu Marrakech

Avid Nobu lovers can rejoice as the Japanese-Peruvian powerhouse opens the doors to its first Morrocan outpost in the heart of Marrakech against the backdrop of its glitzy new hotel situated in the former spot of The Pearl.

Occupying the hotel’s ground floor, Nobu Marrakech makes a dramatic entrance with its striking design, which has been imagined by interior designers Stevani & Silva, a duo best known for blending age-old Japanese style with today’s modern aesthetic.

The space comprising the main dining floor, sushi counter, private dining room and stylish lounge bar has been conceptualised with a nod to Morrocan craftsmanship and matrimony made in perfect harmony with the theme of Japenese style echoed throughout.

The vibe here is very much in keeping with the buzz of Nobu around the world, DJs play daily, and the well-heeled crowd very much sets the scene. The dining floor overlooks the open-plan kitchen, which elevates the atmosphere along with the unrivalled service and expertly blended cocktails, many of which are inspired by a story.

Local flavours are championed on the menu here in an unexpected yet much-welcome spin led by Executive Chef Giulio Lombardi and Sushi Head Chef Tony Tejada. The menu is still quintessentially Nobu with favourites, including the group’s celebrated Black Cod Miso, Rock Shrimp Tempura and the ever-popular Yellow Tail Sashimi with Jalapeño all on the menu.

The restaurant’s arrival to the red city comes with an array of exclusive dishes specially created by Lombardi using locally sourced ingredients, spices and aromatics taken from the neighbouring markets and produce from nearby regions.

Standouts on the menu include Roasted Monkfish, Şifa and Hijiki Dry Miso and a soon-to-be hero dish of Slow-Cooked Lamb Tacos with Mint Creamy Spicy Sauce, both of which are only available at the Marrakech location.

Accompanying the delectable delights on offer here (and also an excuse to take a tipple in the plush Bar & Lounge) is a mouthwatering selection of cocktails, each of which is cleverly inspired by a story.

The favourite is a gin-based exploration of a tale of two vampires having fallen in love and ended up in Tangier, a fruity mix of sweet almond and orange blossom makes for a refreshing pre or post-dinner drink, namely ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’.

Nobu Marrakech Restaurant is open daily from 7pm – 11.30pm and the Bar & Lounge is open every day from 6pm – 2am.

Lavish beach life of Mykonos: NAMMOS

Nammos beachfront restaurant recreates the atmosphere of life aboard – a luxurious yacht on the beach

It is without a doubt one of the hottest party-sports on the Greek islands. Part casual Greek restaurant, part waterside nightclub, part laidback beach bar, Nammos is where the smart set whiles away the long Mykonos summer days and nights. Every August it’s filled with beautiful Athenians ready to spend the season tanning, drinking, eating and partying.

A lifestyle destination with a restaurant, great cocktail bar with DJs and a shisha area is a complete lifestyle destination on the idyllic setting of Psarou Beach.

The bar is a chilled‐out vision of white and taupe, opening directly onto the beach. Here the wealthy locals and international jetsetters relax as they sip a refreshing fruity cocktail or chilled flute of champagne, indulging in a spot of discreet people‐watching from behind their shades. Laidback by day, the energy rises as the evening progresses and the DJs up the volume and the tempo to get the crowd on their feet.

A shisha smoking area next to the bar offers a variety of exotic flavours, including coconut, passionfruit and mango. And for those arriving at the island by yacht, there’s an exclusive transfer service taking guests from deck to bar and back again.

A day lounging by the sea is for many the ultimate indulgence. Under the blazing Greek sun, nuzzled in the golden sands of Psarou, the Nammos Beach transcends every notion of a mere beach bar by presenting the absolute aestival experience, a day on the beach at Nammos. The Nammos experience is an authentic tribute to pleasure, homage to the fervour and brio of Mykonos, as captioned by Nammos.

Nights with sounds that made us dance, nights that become bright as day with fireworks bursting in the skies, people partying as late as the crack of dawn, thousands of cocktail glasses raised to toast to summer and life and yes, countless bottles of champagne!
