The French-born, LA-based street artist is otherwise known as Thierry Guetta. He features in Banksy’s 2010 Oscar-nominated documentary film Exit Through the Gift Shop, and has collaborated with major brands including Coca-Cola, Nike and Mercedes-Benz. He has even designed album artwork for pop icon Madonna and US rapper Rick Ross.

His work hinges on the idea that anything is possible in his practice. “Art has no walls. Anybody can be an artist,” he says. “Art has no rules. There’s no manual.”

Mr. Brainwash art experienced an unconventionally fast path to commercial success. The artist’s first big foray into the commercial art world – his ‘Life Is Beautiful’ exhibition in Los Angeles in 2008 – netted him an estimated six-figure sum.

The Artist was featured in the Academy Award nominated Banksy documentary ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop’ and is considered one of the few street artists whose work has risen to the level of collectability.

Known for his cartoonish take on the historical, the artist mischievously alters traditional impressionist style paintings and historical portraits by adding contemporary iconography.  Presenting Jeff Koons’ balloon dog and Leonardo Da Vinci, Mr Brainwash subverts classic images with an injection of contemporary humour and commentary.
