A hidden spot of glamour and an outdoor oasis in the heart of Knightsbridge, The Garden Room at The Lanesborough is one of the iconic hotel’s most prized hideaways attracting its international jet-set guests and those in the know who frequent it regularly.
Oozing sophistication, this all-year outdoor covered terrace is surrounded by eye-catching greenery and the tone is set by chilled out music and low lighting with candles, a fireplace and heaters for those nippier nights.
Whilst perhaps best-known as a cigar lounge, one would be far mistaken to overlook the Garden Room as a jaunt for a spot of al-fresco dining and some cocktails. For those that do enjoy indulging in some of the finest cigars in the world, the terrace’s coveted walk-in humidor has a connoisseur’s offering of Cuban and pre-Castro cigars with some noteworthy limited, vintage, and special editions available.
Serving a menu of light bites, sharing plates and all-day mains, the terrace is perfect for nibbles with friends over cocktails or equally for a late lunch or evening meal. Smaller plates range from homemade hummus and the must-try lobster and cheese tacos through to a nicely curated charcuterie board.
For a heartier meal, the bigger plates range from a Wagyu burger made from Earl Stonham Farm beef and chips to salads and club sandwiches. The mezze platter is a particular highlight, enough for two to share, it comes with a selection of the smaller plates along with lamb sambousek and chicken jawaneh.
For avid cognac drinkers, The Garden Room is also sure to please with its enviable list of rare vintages and aged spirits, all of which are kept in specially selected bottles which the hotel has named its Paradis. One can expect cognacs dating back as far as the 1800’s with some of the fine champagnes going even further back.
Whatever brings you to The Garden Rooms, it’s guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning of tastes, and for the ultimate privacy and seclusion, it can be exclusively hired for up to six guests.
